  • I'm not saying this performance is perfect, but when directorial decisions are made, there needs to be some thought behind them besides "I don't like movement." Yes, movement can be amateurish, but it can also be the sign of someone who has command of their space. Just because its a "dark comedy" doesn't mean the performers have to act like corpses. And not all musical theater is jazz hands and happiness.

  • You would have Yvan sit down for the entirety of a monologue that can run anywhere between three and four minutes? That would be just as bad as too much movement. Yvan is making a case for himself with his friends, trying to defend why he is late for the umpteenth time. This is also the moment where he lets all his frustration out over his impending wedding. He is going to move around a little bit. Don't you move when you're upset or trying to defend yourself?

  • wow.....look at all these dickheads giving advice....would love to see them try.

  • Videoing a theatre production is always harsh on the actors...but that production looked a little too "camp" for me. What do you think Ms Reza?

  • agreed...

  • No offense but you guys honestly could use alot more feeling in this.

  • Great play badly done. As for sitting opposite each other it would have made it worse than ever. Stop gabling. Slow the pace down. React with each other, It is not stand up comedy. Concentrate on timing and deepen 'both' voices. Find the comedy and the conflict and play it with honesty .

  • If I had directed this piece, I would have had Yvan sitting down. Too much movement is the sign of an amateur actor. I think that the actor is overracting way too much, making it way to farsical. It's a dark comedy not musical theatre.....

  • One of the major set pieces in the play - And the actor spends 90% of it is behind the couch - this seems a bad case of mis direction here - basic direction 101 would indicate that it needs to be re focused as a central piece - Also is frustrating to see the Serge and Marc sitting on opposite sides of the stage - a missed opportunity to have sub plot and business going on here.

  • Great job Keith! I'm impressed with your passion and how on god's earth did you remember all of that?! lol
