@smeetfan1234 I think she was the best all arounder in 2000, she had qualified 1st for those finals and her qualification score was higher than Andrea's score in AA finals. If Khorkina did what she was capable of she would be the olympic champion, in my opinion it was that vault placed in the wrong height that cost her the medal. Generally those olympics were a mess, the vault controversy, taking away Andrea's medal and the chinese medal from TF.

I love the move she does at 0:29. Never saw anyone do that before. I saw a video on youtube of her doing Russia's version of Dancing w/the stars and she looked fabulous

Beam was obviously a weak point for Svetlana, and thats what i think killed her chance of gold in Athens because she really didnt keep her beam from atlanta or sydney. But Sydney was Svetlana's peak, no doubt about it. And it was a shame that Sydney had to screw it up in the AA or else she probably wouldve medaled

This is my favorite mount, ever!!!

I think her 1996 beam was her best. It just never seemed as good after that.

For a tall girl, she sure had done a great job. Many countries usually select short and slander ones to participate since they have physcial advantage of light weight. Khorkina, the Queen of Gymnastics had devoted all her life to her Gymnastic career even though she was already 25 in 2004. Her devotion is very admircable and whether or not this routine was good, it won't take away from her success and fame. She's the only Gymnastic athlete (males or females) in the world that worths knowing.

@Gr33nkiwi I agree, I'm not at all a fan of her beam work. She's the queen of uneven bars, but the beam makes her look 10 feet tall and incredibly clumsy.

She's quite horrible to watch on beam.

@gymnasticsforever95 There was a gymnast from Canada who attempted a gainer triple twist off the side of the beam. Maybe her last name was Plante? I don't remember. It was in the early 2000's but she never got the skill named after her because she touched down with her hand at the international competition she tried to perform it at.
Nastia couldn't even think about doing a whip-double pike, a whip-triple twist or a Khorkina II vault either. I love Nastia, I think she's amazing, but please stop comparing two gymnasts who're completely different! Both have excellent skills and lovely qualities. I think it's better to focus on what they CAN do, instead of the things they CAN'T do.

I love Svetlana but this routine is a bit choppy.
