"Intelligent Design implies, simply, that there is a creator."
It implies that the process of random mutation and natural selection, which drive evolution, are intellient designs, when the process is inherently unintelligent and unguided. DNA replicates. The only reason life is diverse is because replication is never perfect. Especially since primitive forms of DNA were no where near as good at replicating as they are now. So, the miscopies result in variation.

The people who believe in intelligent design are lacking the vision to understand the effect of hundreds of millions of years, and how any species will evolve in response to the changing environment.
Of course, if these fools believe (as so many do) that the world is only 5000 years old, they're not likely to "get" evolution.
Bill Maher may be one of the smartest (living) Americans.

@MrHouth Implying that there's a creator is not (at least according to Occam) a simple proposition. Implying that the natural processes observable around us are the cause of what we observe around us IS a simple proposition. One requires several unjustified (and unjustifiable) assumptions, the other does not.

This man loves himself. No wonder there is no room for God in his heart. Intelligent Design implies, simply, that there is a creator. Does not, however, imply religions of the world are correct in their faith. Bill Maher is nothing without religion. Think about that irony!
