  • ear rape

  • @OMGownerzZz10 exactly :)

  • omg! i need to know how to wire/program that into my 2010 Mk5 jetta 2.5.

I already have a factory alarm. ive been trying effortlessy to find mods for german car sirens for VW.

    Whats the process?

  • @spazdlc I don't know how it's done on the newer VWs, I would assume it's a similar process, but I don't know what electronics are in a Mk5 or newer as I've only worked on VWs as new as B5s or Mk4s.

In my B5, it involved enabling the data bus out of the CCM that drives the interior monitoring, as it's the same bus that drives the siren. The siren talks to the CCM via this data bus, and if it loses power or data comm. with the CCM when armed, it alarms on backup power.

  • The data bus, called the LIN bus, was enabled using a serial data connection to the car's OBD port and software capable of reading and writing the CCM's EEPROM. I found the bytes to change from a post on TDI club; there's some talented people there. Once the bus is enabled, the stock honker is automatically disabled and doesn't need to be removed from the car.

The siren has 3 pins, +, -, and the data pin. I grounded my siren to the battery, and ran power and data from the siren to the CCM.

  • I connected the alarms positive to the CCMs power lead, so it is fused through the CCM's fuse as well. I had to add the pin to the CCM's harness as it was absent from my car, since the system doesn't exist for it here. I connected the siren's data to that pin, and set the siren tone in the CCM's adaptation channels with VAG-COM, and it works as shown.

  • Fuck that was loud LOL

  • @TheTrueAmazingDave

    Ah ok, thanks.

    I didn't know that.

  • As far as I know, only VWs that originally came with interior sound and motion detection as alarm features had these sirens OEM. My US Passat does not have interior monitoring, and it came with the standard alarm horn, not the siren. I modified my car to use the VW siren, and once it is working correctly, you have several alarm tones to chose from.

  • What is German tone?

My German stock Passat honks the horn - and doesn't have this high pitched noise.
