I just made my corn syrup, and i let it boil for 12 minutes in a pan with a thick bottom and on low flame. It came out perfect. This is my 3rd time, the 2 first was a disaster!!

@logginon97 Of course you can substitute citric acid. You can use 4tbsp Lemon Juice to substitute 1tsp of Citric acid.

did u add the baking soda after the sugar syrup cools down? pls let me know urgently... as I need to make some thing for a party that is nearing.

How can I substitude citric acid instead? Or is there anyway to substitude the ingredients to make corn syrup. Please answer me asap cause I need used corn syrup in a science experiments to show some childrens. thanks in advance.

@logginon97 Hello!
Citric acid can't be substitued in this recipe, because it decomposes sugar to fructose and glucose.
