"Kelly Rowland - Motivation" - Rocked Out Version (Covered the Lottalox Way)

When I first heard Kelly Rowland's song "Motivation" I was shocked that it was her! And then to hear Lil' Wayne rapping on it took me back to the days of Destiny's Child when she, Michelle and Beyonce did the song "Soldier" where Beyonce indirectly claimed her love for Jay-Z.

I was also happy that Kelly had signed to Motown, because this would give her a chance to shine on her own, doing her own version of R&B. And I really am enjoying her CD "Here I Am" and especially liked the remixed version of Motivation with Trey Songs, Busta Rhymes and Fabulous!

Although Kelly gets compared to Beyonce/Sasha quite a bit, I am happy to see her finally coming into her own. She is one of the artists who inspired me and this is one reason I wanted to cover this song with a rock version. It was something totally unexpected of me.

When some people learned I was doing the Motivation cover, they were a little shocked. Some of them were still probably getting over the shock of me doing "How to Love" because I mostly have done classic R&B in the past. "Stay in my own lane." I was told. Busta Rhymes and Trey Songs already redid it and did it justice, so don't go messing with it. I was shocked at some of the backlash. All I could remember thinking was, 'I wonder is this how Nicki Minaj felt." Lol. But anyway, I trusted myself, I knew who I was and went ahead and went forth with the Lottalox's version and so far, I haven't looked back.

Your critique lost all validation when you referred to her hair which is naturally locked as weave. That's the sad part about Youtube, everybody has an opinion, no matter how ignorant (literally) it is.
