Just out of curiousity, since you're not swedish I assume by your accent, why do you use the latin1_swedish_ci collation?

yes because it cannot be empty! ID is like a person so you cannot be guest 0! your there so your 1! And NULL stands for "nothing" not 0 but blank! Hope this helps!

And would NULL be the same as 0? (which I'm going to use for now)

I'm getting "Column "id" cannot be null" message.
