Mate doesn't matter what league, country or universe sport is played - you will never get consistent treatment of players that break the rules (heck in life with laws for that matter) - the line is not straight down the middle and probably never will be.
Haven't seen the Crosby hit but the superuberstars get a lot of free passes that the fringe or bad reputation guys don't.
Sport these days is about selling the product - you don't do it well without your top guys on the ice.

Of course Modo could beat the Thrashers. Under Don Waddel I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to sign all of the third liners of Modo's team either, then play them with Kovalchuk.

I also dont rly know why everyone is saying that either the Bertuzzi or McCsorley incident was the single worst cheap shot in history. For me Matt Johnson's shot on Jeff Beukeboom was clearly the worst cheap shot in hockey history.

There's tons of stuff from the 50's and 60's we don't even see. Im talking hop over the boards and break a guy's leg with a two hand slash. The Richard days. Hockey used to be much, much worse.
