  • Thanks so much, ur videos are so useful. But...the junk in the pancrease...just is not food. probs mucus...u know...since this is CF we're talking about...:)

  • "The junk" is NOT something the person ate that they cannot break down. The food does not enter the pancreatic duct from the duodenum. My guess would be that it is mucous which would contain digestive enzymes which cannot be passed down the duct to the duodenum because it is blocked by the thick mucous. The thickened mucous is caused by difficient chloride transporters.

  • What exactly is the "filled with junk" junk made up of? Obviously it is something the person ate that they cannot break down. What are the reasons the pancreas get damaged? Is this junk that looks like mucous a slimy parasite in the millions and billions? This is only one pancreas, and to compare pancreas, healthy vs sick and sicker would make all the difference in education. Especially if we knew whose pancreas we were looking at.
