The Cyclone Spoiler II design featured a stretched, tapered nose and flush-mounted grille. It also had re-rolled rocker panels that allowed the car to be lowered without violating NASCAR's ride-height requirements. Two trim packages were available: the Dan Gurney Special in Wimbledon White and Presidential Blue and the Cale Yarborough Specials (as seen on this car) in Candy Apple Red over Wimbledon White. Both were named after Mercury's best NASCAR drivers of the time.

  • This car looks perfect, and I get that.. But I thought I would say something kind of unrelated..

People think I am really weird when I say I would rather drive a beat up classic with original paint than an immaculate restored one. I don't know, but people always think I am weird.

Anyway, this here car is absolutly beautiful, I love seeing the rare survivors..

  • @midgetmayo No I get it..I prefer shinny...but I get it...

  • awesome

  • @NetzDriverZ Glad you liked it...

  • I can remember only ever seeing the one Ford syclone (in person) Its a cool old car but it looks like a streched out mustang Gt or old Barracuda. Was this their super bird fighter

  • @satchboogyfan Yes they are cool.. especially in real life..it really grew on me... it was before my time but this was Mercury's early aerodynamics attempt and the Super Bird was Chrysler....but NASCAR reeled them in pretty quick after they started leaving 200 mph in the dust...

  • @midgetmayo Well yeah.... find an old car out in a field somewhere go to work from there. or find a barn find and drive it for a couple years then restore it.

  • @gunny426plymouth lol I love those too, but I wouldn't molest an original car to have one lol

  • @midgetmayo Sure.... I prefer rat jobs myself all black or primer or bare metal rust..... adds character.....

  • @V8TransAmGTA Isn't it?..amazing that a car can look that good after 40 yrs...thanks for stopping by!!
