Note: This isn't really a step by step manual about how to build a guitar, it's rather an overview what you basically have to do when you build a guitar from parts.

If common sense is used, I'm sure anyone can do this.

What you don't see in the video is how I put in the tremolo studs, the tremolo claw and how I polished the frets, but you're not missing much.
To polish the frets I just used Dunlop 65 Micro Fine Fret Polishing Cloth, nothing more was needed for the frets.

The background music are some old demos of mine.

For the gear heads, here's a list of specs:
Warmoth body, swamp ash, chambered, flame maple top, natural masked binding

Warmoth neck, Warmoth Pro construction, boat neck (thickest possible), maple, Pau Ferro fretboard

SS6100 frets (SS is for stainless steel)
Earvana compensated nut
Warmoth pickguard in white pearl
Bridge PU: Dimarzio Virtual Solo DP420
Middle & Neck PUs: Dimarzio Area 67 DP419
Bridge: Gotoh EV510T-FE (this is the improved version of the trem that Suhr guitars are using)
Tuners: Gotoh SG381-07 Locking Tuners
Saddles: Graph Tech String Saver Saddles

What else was used: All kinds of electronics, pickup switch, knobs, jack, jack plate, roller string tree, strap locks, screws, Joe Satriani Strap...

The amp used to test the guitar at the end is an Orange Tiny Terror Combo.
The settings where tone at 13 o'clock and gain at 12 o'clock, second part is with gain at 15 o'clock
No pedals where used.

Enjoy!

  • What pickup do you have in the bridge?

  • @GuitarzMyThing it's a Dimarzio Virtual Solo DP420

but now they have those Paul Gilbert "Injector" pickups, which should also be worth checking out
