I saw POPEYE when it came out, back in 1980. Because of this movie I canceled my subscription to "American Film," because Robert Altman's reputation was in decline and the story they did on this film infamously deleted anything complimentary to the director. And the movie itself? The musical numbers still hold up after all these years, and there's a kind of weird charm in the film that is unique. Also the two principals are perfectly cast.

This gives me a new appreciation for Harry Nilsson. I will be checking out his other work...very talented.

I care to read and reply to your messages. The one thing I don't care about is your feelings towards my replies. if you don't care, I couldn't care less about THAT...
