Meghan Warby is a Public Affairs and Digital Communications Senior Consultant. Working in both practices speaks to her interest in the growing eAdvocacy movement, wherein digital tools, such as blogging, social networks, mobile platform applications and online campaigns, revolutionize previous definitions of lobbying and communications. She is a social media enthusiast, avid blogger, and active participant in the Twitter community. Meghan recently travelled across the US to interview pioneers in eAdvocacy to discuss changes in communications since the 2004 American election. Her client work, which includes blogger relations, writing for web, strategic plans for government relations, monitoring and event execution, spans all H&K practice groups, including organizations such as Molson, Motorola, Shell, Dairy Farmers of Ontario, Certified Management Accountants and Intel. Prior to this position, Meghan worked at Queens Park, in both opposition and government offices, through the Ontario Legislative Internship Programme. In both offices, Meghan prepared research, press releases, newspaper articles, briefing materials and speeches on a wide variety of subjects. In addition to her internship at the provincial legislature, Meghan interned at the federal level in Heritage Canada's Sound Recording department. Shortly thereafter, she applied her cultural policy experience to the music sector in Austin, Texas. Working as a program, fundraising and membership coordinator with the Austin Music Foundation, Meghan juggled public relations, event coordination, database and web site updates. Meghan received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours, with Distinction) degree in Canadian Studies and Political Science from the University of Toronto and her Master of Arts in Canadian Cultural Policy and Cultural Studies from Carleton University. She enjoys volunteering as a Vice Chair of the Churchill Society for the Advancement of Parliamentary Democracy, ChangeCamp, acting as a main Volunteer Co-ordinator of the North By Northeast Festival and attending live music events.
