He was on tour with Buddy Holly and the Crickets in the late 50's when Des O'Connor was also on the bill. I met him outside the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool. Those were the days of my youth.......

Good God poor man, i never knew he was an actor too. I thought i saw a singer on tv once in uk in recent years who had a career in which one of his hits was Robin Hood i wonder who it was now that i read your reply

@carroj9 Sadly he died of a heart attack at the age of 44 in 1968 whilst filming an episode of The Saint with Roger Moore. He released 24 singles & 6 eps in the UK from 1955 - 1967 and was also a stage & tv actor.
