the bike is heavy and under powered. You can ride is as a "motorbike" but you won't get too far. I ride up a couple of steep hills but have to stand and pedal my guts out to get up them with the electric assistance.

Yes you may pedal without using the motor assistance. These bikes are good value and least expensive. Power is added to your pedaling by twisting the right grip. This ebike will open you up to a new world of biking. Things will never be the same. If you want, electric assist can take as much or as little weight off your legs as desired by manually engaging electric power AS you pedal. Hope this adds clarity.

I have a question about these kind of bikes, can you use it without the motor, petal and stuff when you want?
