Took a little work but she's finally getting it... ! :D Teaching a dog to catch a treat, the trick is to start off with something very light and easy to catch at first , popcorn works best (one piece of popcorn at a time) or maybe even a small piece of fluffy bread. Just throw it slowly/lightly and keep trying over and over again, (I do a little bit of a high arc, small throws aiming at the dogs muzzle). If the dog isn't trying to catch it and just waiting it to fall on the floor to eat it, what I do is try to grab it the second it hits the floor, so the dog realizes it's only chance to eat it will be when it's mid air, or else once it hits the floor I will try to grab it. The nice thing about popcorn or light fluffy bread is its easy to catch, the stuff will usually stick to their mouths for a second even if they miss. A bit of practice and any dog can get the hang of this. :)
