The US decides if you are eligible.. and there are 7 rules designed to exclude as many tribes as possible. The goal all along has been to have fewer indians-- and if that means ignoring them, that works for the government. Irregardless of that, however, we feel we do meet (and exceed) the 7 criteria established for the BIA to determine whether you can or cannot be recognized. If you are a Cherokee descendant, add your story to our documentation, and together we will go forward. But hurry, time is important.
