  • No, he was just a baby - 3 months old...

  • my family are thinking about getting a samoyeds but ive got a few q's

we have another dog, would they get along?

i hear they are chewers and can be quite destructive

how big do they get as we dont want a dog thats huge (i hear the females get up to 50 cm) and its a female we'd get, i just wanted to ask some owners.

  • I can't tell you if one dog will get along with another, without knowing the dogs involved. Both my sams play well with other dogs. They have a loving, happy personality. All dogs can be chewers if they are bored, or don't have other outlets for their chewing needs. My dogs only chew their chew-toys, or bullsticks, or bones. Sam females weigh between 38 and 50 pounds, and stand as small as 16" at the shoulder to 20" at the shoulder. I've seen bigger, but it isn't typical.

  • I'm really not sure if they are hyooallergenic. They are a double-coated breed. Best that you go visit some sams, and see how you do on the visit.

  • Mommy, I want a treat NOW! lol

    Cutie

  • Not polite at all! I have a poodle that never barks for food, only stares at you until you answer "ok" or "no", and if you say "no" he goes away and forgets about it...

  • lo amé :3

  • @mcf7021 Samoyeds are hypoallergenic. Yes they shed a lot, but its more like hair. They don't have the dander that is attached to the fur of most dogs. I had a samoyed for years, never had an allergic reaction to her, but I'm allergic to every other dog I've encountered. Especially my aunt's Syberian Husky. Very dense, thick fur that everything sticks to, lots of dander!

  • omg, my little samoyed, Loba do it that! *-*

sorry for my bad english :C

  • That is one VERY VERY VERY cute cute cute SAMOYED !!!!!! .... i am getting a samoyed in the spring and i can't wait and sooo excited <3

  • i love u samoyed.

  • @irocurpolkadotsox Shaving them is actually okay. But it's a good idea to brush them while their fur is growing back to make sure it doesn't grow back matted or clumped. We've shaved my samoyed every year and his fur hasn't grown back matted or clumped yet because we brush it while it's growing. It's also a smart idea to use a mixture of cutting and shaving rather than just using one or the other. And DON'T shave it too close to the skin as they have fair skin that can get burnt easily.

  • how cute we thought on buying a samoyed ... are they a really good family dog ? :)
