I liked the original vertical tabs, but I can't complain about the breadcrum style. This prototype is well laid out. However, one thing bothers me. An implicit feature of the vertical tab style was the ability to easily and quickly hide an unneeded pane. In Amarok 1, after setting up a playlist, the playlist would be all that was visible in my window. I still am not comfortable with the playlist being relegated to a third of the window in Amarok 2...
You can actually click-and-drag the pains so they snap together or apart. I've got it sometimes set up where all I can see is the centre context bit, because that's all I want at that time. You can also make it so that all you can see is the playlist in the same manner: Collapse the right view, then collapse the context view to the right.
Well, as I have as much of a say as anyone about that, I am pretty sure that this one will make it into Amarok, although it might change slightly in the process :-)
