My friend and I built this 6 foot tall floating arm trebuchet for an AP Physics project at school. It took several months of planning and design work and about two to three weeks of construction.
This is footage from the first day of test firing.
First Throw: basketball thrown with 100+ lbs. of counterweight
Second Throw: basketball thrown with 150+ lbs. of counterweight
Third Throw: basketball thrown with 150+ lbs. of counterweight
Fourth Throw: basketball thrown with 200+ lbs. of counterweight
Note: The pin angle was changed slightly for each toss.
I want to sell it. Make me an offer. Send me your email only if you're seriously interested and we can talk specifics.
Thanks, and enjoy the show!
@hardtailkid1 the arm is 60 inches from the pin to the center of the wheels, 81 inches from the pin to the pipe holding the boxes and 92 inches overall in length. i apologize for the late response

How long is the throwing arm?

@Idn42 yes, i considered entering that competition, but i wanted to build a bigger one, and this one's a bit too big for the length of the toss at Merrimack College.
