Joel Tenenbaum admitted to downloading and distributing music over peer-to-peer networks and was prosecuted and convicted on the basis of 30 shared songs. He received a fine of $22,500 per infringement, beyond the minimum $750 per song charge, but well below the maximum of $150,000 for willful infringement.

  • @headshotFAIL cnn and fox are the most controlled manipulative bullshit ass news, propaganda for your brain. theyre trying to manipulate us all into agreeing into these fines and criminal charges towards us all. People need to stand up against this bullshit, strength in numbers

  • The reporter quoted stevie wonder, please give him an fine of 22,500 dollars for copyright infringement!!

because that's the same thing right? He 'stole' something that stevie wonder said.

  • Its silly. They arent gonna see any real money. They arent gonna solve anything in the long run, as its sooooooooooooooooo easy to pirate music (just capture a music video on youtube and capture the audio track and bam ...you have music), and share it. People will pirate for many reasons, and most of them have to do with not living in a fair world. Celebs just expect ppl to be fair to them? LOL that's not how it works. If you dont want music duplicated, then dont release it. EZ PZ

  • the news reporter = massive cunt

  • JOBS WORTHS

  • What's the difference?!?!?!?! That ignorant motherfucker! when you steal, the original owner loses a item.. and when you interview someone, INTERVIEW them, don't interrupt them!? damn it!

  • OK question tell me this dumb ass reporter never was never given free copies of videos from his co workers which at the time was easier to get at news stations or by his neighbors shouldnt he or those who shared it with him be fined.

  • outrageous fines

  • @mrstrings2006 If he had $657,000 dont you think he would have bought the cd's?

  • @McDjox that's right!!!!
