Nein, die Orgel auf der Empore wurde im Zusammenhang mit der Sanierung vor 3 Jahren abgebaut. Warst du schon mal in Stendal?

Yes! One thousand and one times YES! The tempo is perfect. It's a Toccata of course, but you heard other interpretations on You Tube! Really shameful. Almost with missing notes and wrong touch.....but lots of useless speed! At least we are hearing the same Toccata which Boelmann wrote.

So, keep it up! You're excellent.

Bravo! Well played!!! Nice build up in the middle section of the arpeggios just before the return of the main theme. I think the temp is spot on since toccata is not equal to "go like hell just to try to impress people resulting in a blur of sound and organ mush." I can hear the musical line, the complexity of rhythmic patterns and musical motives, and I can appreciate the virtuosity of the player. THIS is what makes a TOCCATA! I can see Boellmann smiling now.

this is too slow....and the organ is not the best one in order to play this piece...well played but i repeat, too slow

This was played very well. A little slow but it was played well and an organist can only be as good as the organ sometimes. I think if there were more pedal stops if would have sounded a lot better.

kannst Du es besser? (Will ich sehen) er hat seinen job super erledigt. ( bitte in deutsch antworten) es liegt immer im Auge des Betrachters. Und diese Musik steht nicht unbedingt für schnell. wer sagt das? ehrlich, hast du mit ihm persönlich gesprochen? vieles wird einfach falsch interpretiert. Wer war bei ihm? Keiner von uns. Sorry, aber ich kann einen solchen genialen Komponisten nicht wirklich interpretiren. Und ehrlich gesagt, steht es auch keinem andem zu.

After reading a lot of comments, and listening to this quite a few times (as well as a number of other renditions...), I think the tempo is dead on, but the cadence is what is "off". This seems to be less a function of the player, rather the responsiveness of the organ itself. I completely agree with @GranConcertoViole, the instrument itself isn't ideally suited for this work, not just because of the general voicing of the instrument, but the responsiveness as well.
