Nearly two-thirds of states are projecting budget gaps in the next couple of years. Do you think the overall economy will improve while states still have large deficits? Do you think the federal government should offer states more stimulus money? Would you prefer that states raise taxes or cut funding for government services to cover budget shortfalls?

  • It would be impossible for any state to tax the people into prosperity. State taxes are already too large a percentage on the incomes of those who are still employed. The problem lies with the exorbitant salaries, pension plans, and benefit packages of State employees. These must be drastically cut, along with a long lasting hiring freeze.

  • The folks who belong to the big government party can always give more money to the government than they owe . . . . the government won't turn the money away.
