hey can anyone help me?iv got an Amazon blue crown,he lefts me pet him but he will only step up on to my hand if he flies off his cage and lands on the floor,and he does bot let anybody else in the family touch him other than my little sister but if I go to pet him when she is standing there he will run across his cage  to try and bite me,I can then only pet him when she leaves.anybody got any ideas?thanks.

Very nice! On the other hand I don't understand why it's so hard for people to understand how to train a bird? It's the same as training any other animal, just a different body language presented depending on the animal. Positive Reinforcement... It's the only thing that works with birds, dogs, horses or even kids! :D

Birds & owners are in a "win-win" when positive reinforcement is used. It requires really "watching" for the bird's subtle body language as s/he attempts to communicate. Providing clear signals to the bird when cuing a request for behavior & timing the delivery of the reinforcement, helps the bird understand what we are asking. These techniques may take longer initially, but are also more effective. The human/bird bond increases, the bird is intellectually stimulated, and everyone is happier!

I love watching the faces of the people light up when they realize they can work WITH their birds using positive reinforcement instead of force.

And watching the birds learn... wow!
