With a price point under $1000, the Nikon D90 with Hd , not only shoots a broadcast quality video but you can use your old Nikkor glass to sweeten the deal. Check out this video from Nikon .Visit http://photoinduced.com for more photo-ness and weekly giveaways.

  • Yup, but to be fair, the Canon does cost $2000 more... :-P

  • Yes and the other thing you might have mentioned is that the Canon 5DMk2 costs DOUBLE the price of of a D90.

Try comparing like with like in order for a comparison to be of any value.

  • mine is coming tomorrow!

  • You have to remember, the D90 was out WAY before the 5dmk2. So nikon didnt equip the D90 with the top of the line stuff. The D90 is not a competitor for the canon model.

  • I do. Everyday. And I'll probably be adding a 7D. The D90 is great for it's price point, but the interviewee here is emphasizing "low-light, night time and ambient light capabilities". That is his main point and I'm simply commenting that the 5dMk2 is at least 2x more light sensitive. That's why I said, for his usage, he "really wants a 5dMk2". I did add, yes, it's $2k more, but he's a pro, so that's no biggee. BTW: I own both Nikon and Canon and don't have a favorite in terms of "brand".

  • nope. if you like your canon so much then go use it! Instead of takling about the other company :)

  • I'm looking in to the performance into the Canon 5dmk2 but would like to know how is the Quality shooting in Hi ISO setting is there a lot of noise? ( in still mode )

  • sooooo true.... sadly... too bad Im broke lol I'm fine that my SLR only takes pics though... The only thing I hate more than multi-tasking are objects that multi-task...haha

  • yeah. I've seen side by side comparisons of video from both the Nikon D90 and the 5D MkII, and Canon comes out on top in almost every lighting situation.

I love both Nikon and Canon, but Canon's Vid quality wins.
