Nintendo actually said when they released the Photo Channel 1.1 Update that any GAME that used Wii's MP3 player would still work, but the Photo Channel itself would only accept .m4a files encoded with AAC. So if you have a game like Excite Truck that can replace IT'S MUSIC with YOUR OWN music you are fine.

big step but have you tried the Twilight Hack Alpha3b it loads homebrew FROM THE SD (without SD gecko now :o and feel free to google me for my credentials b4 you call BS...because i would hate to see you miss out on a amazing elf loader like this! (it has already BOOTED a SNES and GENISIS EMULATORS) there is a "hello world" and tetris game released as well! please google me b4 you flame me i am a contributer to the homebrew scene...well a few homebrew scenes ;P just lookin out for my wii homies!
