So... you've bought one of the Sansa Slot players and a 1,000 song Slot Radio card. You've found a few pieces of music that you really like and you want full albums...what do you do?

You COULD buy DRM music from iTunes, or download non-DRM stuff from Amazon, or you could just purchase an entire album of DRM-FREE music on a slot card that costs less than either.

Hard choice? Methinks not!

  • Does the world need yet another music format?

This is not the first time Sandisk have tried selling music on SD cards. They called it Gruvi back in 2006 and it was a miserable failure.

  • gomemdesoto,

I like choice. I think SanDisk realizes that.

Slot Music is high-bitrate, DRM-Free on a memory card that you can also use in your phone/camera/whatever.

This isn't another format. This is an attempt to give consumers a choice using existing formats and technologies.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • i like it but what about traviling and you lose the card if you have mor then on while switching it i have lost 2 micro sd cards in the past year so far so i think they should us at least use a sd card not micro so it is easier to find and easier to hold on to.

  • hounddog1995,

The nice thing about this however is that Slot Music isn't DRM'd. So you can backup all your music to WHATEVER devices you may want to use.

    .

    Peace, Fr. Robert

  • So are you stuck with artist slot disks or can you get a empty micro SD card with your own music on it and stuff that into the player

  • I'm traveller, too. At first i thought just need music when i'm went on travel. but i need big memory card without further any device. so i think what is proper to keep images and videos and recording my voice. do you know what is fit me?? cowon, ipod, yp-p3? last one is download to mp3 player without converting at least. I dont want to waste of thim for changing video file. P3 is supports mpeg4,wmv, xvid, avi, whatelse. so what you guys have an idea?? gimme sth!!

  • Or you could torrent.

  • But i like it!

  • This is the future of modular "media".. although I don't think the formfactor is ideal.

  • This is a great concept. I would do it as long as its cheap.
