  • How did you get to do video chat with all those ppl? Please Reply! I want to know!

  • Easy, iChat AV on the Mac does it out of the box! Are you on a Mac?

  • I haven't played with AOL for video chat for years - back then the window was wee tiny - curious if it's any better now? or did you mean AOL connection in iChat? I think the compression algorithms are just better in Skype.

  • I like ichat for all it can do(effects, desktop sharing) plus ichat is built with other apps close to mind with it. skype only has the video quality going for it.

  • You make a great point. I love the desktop sharing in iChat for sure, and file transfer too. I guess it's good that we have different tools for the job!

  • skype sucks.... ichat is better

  • How about some constructive metrics here? I tested both side by side with the same connections across the world, in 3 different tests. Consistently iChat was choppy, hard to hear and the video jammed up, while as you can see Skype had beautiful, smooth video and audio.

    What exactly have you tested?

  • Definetelly iChat!

  • @YouConverse ......

  • how u get skype that gooder quality

  • me to

  • Ya..

  • Great top TWO comparison. I thought iChat would be better for Mac since it is made for Mac, but... AOL connection seems to suck BIG TIME!? I just set it up and have not tried it yet so I do not know from my personal experience. With Skype, video quality is also very good, but no tech support and if you pay credit for phone calls, some time the credit get lost for no reason ...
