East African Safari Rally (EAS) 1972, a great movie to highlight the Works Datsun 240Z.
With four Works 240Z and a bunch of 1600SSS Datsun took part in this event.
Z s where driving by nowadays well known men; Rauno Aaltonen / Tony Fall (SF/UK) Shekhar Mehta / Mike Doughty (EAK/EAK) Edgar Herrmann / Hans Schuller (D/D).
Ford wanted revenge for last year, an armada of Escorts came to the start.

Datsuns took fifth, sixth and tenth with a 240Z

No, in first place they are there to stop water coming over the car. If you drive into waterhole, the splash comes normally over the car too. All for better visibility.
