why sad? look at the crowd. 'The Cure' say they are happy of their audience aged from 14 to who knows how old. but all the hall is flooded by screaming teenagers. seems, not really liked atmosphere for the band performance. i think, not sad, just performing in spite of the moment. plus, according to Robert, performance is not their favorite part of band life

everything from 1996 until now is gargabe except for Jupiter Crash that was recorded to a Boris' drum pattern

The comments about Robert seeming sad - probably due to the fact there were many tensions within the band in 2004, this perfomance was one of Perry and Rogers last.
