Begun in 1919 by a group of immigrants from Montefalcione, Avellino, Saint Anthony's Feast is the largest Italian Religious Festival in New England. Called the "Feast of all Feasts" by National Geographic Magazine, this authentic Italian street festival has it all for people of every age: parades, strolling singers, entertainment, and religious services are held daily. Visitors can stroll the beautifully decorated streets sampling the best Italian street foods from over 100 pushcarts and browse for a souvenir keepsake. The highlight of the Feast is the ten hour procession of the Statue of Saint Anthony through the streets of the North End accompanied by devotees, marching bands and floats. The Statue of the Saint returns to confetti and streamers cascading from the rooftops. The magazine of Italian Food Wine & Culture said Saint Anthony's Feast is "a spectacle not to be missed!"

  • Yes, he was born in Portugal, but his official title is "St Anthony of Padua" (Padova in Italian). That's why they celebrate him in Italian festivals.

  • St Anthony is from Padova Italy

  • He was ordained and spent a lot of time in Italy.

  • Hi i`m from Montefalcione we just had st.Anthony feast here in Italia and its nice to see the tradition is kept alive by fello italian/americans . Grazie for the video ..check out the fire works of Montefalcione on youtube.

  • Yep, St. Lucy's feast was right after it. Although many of the old timers are not around (there was an old lady who used to sit outside of her home and sell lemonade) the feast is still an affair.
