  • Still got this one on tape. Sasha was awesome in those days. Classically trained: his mixing is flawless. The Jens Mix of Lazonby's Sacred Cycles is the stand out track for me..Genius5*****

Sometimes when I recorded these mixes as they were broadcast I'd wait 30min then start recording because tapes are only 90min. With this one I started recording from the start. Glad I did as I'd have been gutted at missing Sacred Cycles. I think the first 30min of this mix are the best, though the full set is beautiful.

  • I remember when I first heard this mix, I didn't leave home for days just listening to it again and again in a state of total awe and wonder. Nobody had ever made music sound like this. It's so easy to forget that it was all so NEW and fresh and original. It was the first time it had ever been done.

Quite frankly this is in my top three greatest pieces of music (not just mixes) of all time.

There is simply no volume in the world loud enough for it.

Turn it up on full and lose yourself!!!

Dead right there mate about the start of the mix. Absolutely lethal first 30 mins or so, not too keen on the Brian Transeau PA for the last hour!!

The very odd store used to stock 120 minute tapes which were bought solely for the purpose of recording the latest Essential Mix.

Stand out track for me was the Spicelab track........what a drop!

  • YEAH NO WHAT U MEAN BY THE FIRST 30 MINS THE BEST ...BUT ALL IN ALL SHIT HOT!!!!!!!!!!!
