Category manager and competitor Phil Ward qualified 18th but parked his car at the front of the grid before the race start. He hoped out of his car and pleaded with officials to stop the race due to a major oil slick at Turn 2 of the Ipswich circuit.

@lynel1985 I know what you mean! I dont race a circuit like this but I do race a round track aspault. I am on a shoestring budget and its all can do to keep up with the other racers because of it. They go MONTHS without paying thier bills but I make dang sure my bills are paid before I even consider racing.

@fadermatrix92 a lot of these guys are run on a shoestring budget, an off for them eusually meant out of the series for weeks if not the entire season. The guy who got out of his car knew this and was protecting the drivers from themsevles. ultimately starting a race with a dodgey track isnt bright but the race controllers make their calls for a living. I live 10minutes from this circuit, its not the nicest to be driving on at such high speeds being 1 of australias fastest avg's

They all started because the light flashed yellow and talking to a family friend who is a driver it went green as well. But the Hooters girl had a pretty good start. No one even knew what happened because the medical car went as well
