yes a rite of passage is right!!!! everyone i know has been there!! i went in high school 13 years ago. every town has there "thing" this is Stafford's - witch's pond and Aquia Church

It's a rite of passage for kids in Stafford, VA... to sneak onto the property where its located. They say the water on the pond turns red - (Red tide, algal bloom) & that there's a "sacrificial table with Latin inscription nearby - (Actually an outdoor altar built for the old roman catholic cemetery, the inscription was in Latin since that language was used in catholic rites when the altar was built in the 1920's. People suspect supernatural occurrences... I think urban legend - I live nearby.

the pond is actually old as shit and in the middle of the wood surrounded by trees that are 200-600 years old i doubt its a gravel pit.
