Managed to be overseas twice when they came to WA. I doubt I'll ever recover from missing the clouds live.
Penny Century was the theme music to my early twenties. When my married up mates and their kids have bbqs and parties these days, I wait till things get dull (they inevitably do these days...sigh) and I put on Penny Century...
KAPOW!!
You will never see a bunch of domesticated Gen-X's fire up quicker - the nostalgia, the freedom, the fun, the nineties....

the 90's???? thought they were earlier than that from the sound _ sorry, I am only just discovering them

The clouds followed closely by the pixies were the only bands I liked coming out of high school.

Penny Century is the second album I ever bought, after Dolittle. Amazed me then and still does now. This is easily the best track on that album, though the rest are awesome, this has something special, a raw emotion that floods through your entire experience and then ties it back up in a neat little package. Fantastic work.

Such a great song still years later. Those voices are fantastic.

Hi. I'd like to PM you...not good with You Tube system...you gave an alternative ID, not nzoz, but I'm not sure how to friend that ID. Can you PM me? I'd like to make some suggestions for uploads and get info off of you.

I still toss Penny Century on every once in a while and have people asking "who's THAT?" in a good way :)

The guy in the white T-shirt oculd have at least got off the stool for the dance sequence! LOL!

Penny Century: bloody classic. the chick who did all their cover art was cool too. She did it all for them for a while a think. The dancing in this is just supposed to be fun man! It's like run pussycay run or something

This is my favourite Clouds song. Still listen to it regularly even today - dated better than Heironymus I think.

I saw them support Crowded House in Sydney at the state theatre. They had a terrible mix and was rather disappointed in them but then saw them later at the Annandale. They were Genius.

I listened to this album about a trillion times for real! STILL makes me happy when I hear them...and now VIDEO! WOW!

Never failed to miss a show, from Canberra to Newcastle and Sydney, including both farewell concerts @ the metro, they only time disappointed- when they broke up. How good would it be to see them in their original inception once again!!!! F**king fantastic!

Probably used to see you at the gigs! I was the rabid chick always front & centre. Was massively pregnant at the Futura gigs due to the child being due the first night (didn't arrive so went to the next gig as well). Nothing like a bit of moshpit action to get the contractions happening!

Great post. Still sounds sensational after all these years. The wild guitar riff always peeled paint of walls at the 'dale in times long ago.
