Why this film doesn't get more credit for being, well, extraordinary, is beyond me. I have always felt that it is implied here that Maggie's husband is gay, something that wouldn't have been unheard of at the time (or even today). I actually like Kirk Douglas in this film, too. Novak is astonishingly good. This was a very honest look at a suburban affair and its fallout, with a very sad, but very realistic, ending. Thank you for posting.

I love Kim in this film. Her vulnerability in the scene with her husband is heartbreaking. She truly is an underrated actress and she is at her most beautiful here!

They don't make love stories like this anymore. Two greats giving excellent performances. Novak - Mystically sultry with an alluring beauty, Douglas with his ever famous inner intensity. Great film.
