oh my god! i though i was the only one who did this! i have magnets just like those (but they're glow in the dark) and i would always make those isosahedrons (shape with 20 triangles) and hang them somewhere and watch them spin for minutes. the longest ive gotten one to go is 6 and a half minutes.

kinda it is something that creates energy, in other words it moves (creates energy) with having any force or energy to make it move

perpetual motion cant be cast aside as "impossible", though it is highly unlikely, the science of today can do things we deamed "impossible" a few years ago, so who knows, maybe one day we might actually see a perpetual motion machine

this is a great video. it helps prove that perpetual motion is impossible. but still some people are wasting time building machines to prove otherwise. lol.
