Hi. To my knowledge today is the first time I've heard the name Tony Joe White. I'm sure I've heard his music before and just didn't know it was him. My dad is Jimmy Burns (Chicago), so I was raised with the blues. All I know is my daddy just hipped me to Tony Joe White, and hey, this is a bad dude.

I was there as well, he just came on stage at the bowl with a Gibson 335 sat on his Fender Twin reverb, stamped his foot, played guitar and blew me away with his voice.
This was the second tim I saw Tony, the first was at the Royal Albert Hall in 1971 when he supported Creedence Clearwater Revival, was just as amazing there, I think his brother was in the band with him.
Load of other greats on that day, Jeff Beck, Lou Reed, Golden Earing etc
All the best

Been a fave of mine for MANY years, remember him from the 70s and my trips to Mardi Gras. I think he is one of the best artists in America, a national treasure. A soft spoken man with a BIG message.

Amazing song. So laid back.
Really makes you think about the Bayous, and sweetgrass. Just sitting on the porch, soaking up the summer heat, and the humidity.

Nice tone from the strat. Good licks from Tony. Great lyrics, as usual. Nice bass line, too. I'm gonna learn this one and play it for my jammin' buddies.
