Titanic 1953 The Final Moments (Crossover Version)

After weeks of editing, my very first Titanic crossover is finally here. This is for TonyWDA for all his hard work.

Note: the whole film is in black and white.

Storyline: As the lifeboats row away from the Titanic, Captain Smith gives his last orders to his crew. After that, everyone sings Nearer My God To Thee.

The Disney characters can hear the song from the lifeboats. Some of them weep in tears. Captain Smith looks up at the ship's mast, seeing a flag. He feels sorry for himself, knowing that he must go down with his ship like a good captain. He lowers his head as tears begin to form in his eyes. The Titanic stands there silently as her bow submerges.

Suddenly the ship explodes several times. The Disney characters watch in horror as the Titanic rises high in the air, exposing her propellers, explodes one last time and finally sinks to the ocean floor. 1500 people, including Captain Smith, die with her.

The Disney characters cry with sadness. One of the world's most tragic disasters has unfolded right before their very eyes.

712 people, along with the Disney characters, in 19 lifeboats... survive.

This was my dad's favorite movie. When he passed away, this hymn was sung at his funeral. Putting the Disney characters into the clip reminds me of how young I was when my dad passed away. This clip is truly moving. Thank you for posting this.

A nice, touching mashup.

Sadly, since I grew up knowing about the real disaster and how it actually played out (I had just turned seven when the National Geographic article came out in '85), the "old" film versions just doesn't work for me. CBS's made-for-TV movie that came out in '96 was incredibly badly done, but even it featured the ship breaking up (well, actually it was this really poorly-done "montage") and the near-total panic that happened at the end and in the water.
