  • Thanks for this video, I too am a piano player playing organ way too busy. 2 questions, when would you recommend the glisendos, and when would you add 7ths and such.

  • 1. The frequency of glissandos depends on the songs and depends on taste. So there is subjectivity in how to use it. In a set of four songs, I would recommend picking no more than 2 songs to use this effect, then only use it once in a song ... twice max. Remember than you can also do the opposite of a glissando (traditionally left to right up the keyboard). You can also do a "fall" — usually immediately after the final chord is a section of a song, typically at the end of the chorus.

  • 2. Color notes (7ths, 9ths, etc.) should be used sparingly — but again is subjective and depends on the song style. While use of 2nds, open 5ths (no 3rd), and two note 4ths and 3rds are more common and open sounding, a properly open voiced 7th chord (maybe omitting the 5th all together) makes the color notes in the chord speak more without muddying the waters. If this doesn't make sense, reply back and I'll see what I can do to help or make it more clear.

  • Hey sweet video!!

I am still in the process of learning keys, can play most chords and am now trying to understand the placement and playing of varied keys instruments in a worship band scenario. I can not melodically play melody parts that well yet as I have bad ADHD and concentrating on reading music is a no-no for me. However I won't let my demon beat me. I am going to keep on playing pads, chordie organs etc until God allows something to click in my brain that will counteract my learning

  • thnx man for this beuatifull video .... and i like to make a tutorial video for howa to play solos on hammond organ and wich scales can we use it to play the solos
