Attention Minneapolis fire and HCMC ambulance; attention Minneapolis fire and HCMC ambulance. You're wanted on I-35W; you're wanted on I-35W bridge that has collapsed; that has collapsed. Time paged 18:07.
Ok, but you can't deny that the expansion of the metropolitan area interstates and highways has certainly lagged with the population increase. My Minnesota friends who visit St.Louis always comment positively about the wider interstates and bridges.
The investigation has shown it was a design flaw of the gausset plates of the bridge not a lack of inspection or road improvement. The bridge was actually designed by a St. Louis company!
Don't be surprised. Minnesota has always regarded transportation as a back burner priority. A metropolitan area with more than three million people just expanded there beltway(I-494) to more than two lanes each direction last year on the western end where most of the population is. In St.Louis I drive my ten lane interstates and laugh at Minnesota.
@garyhstorms10 'Cause it's something they want people to really know about, of course...
