This is a short animation I did for one of my modules at Uni. I took a skating video, rotoscoped the footage and made it into a TV ident for the summer X-games. The music is Need More by Pennywise off the awesome album Straight Ahead!

  • True, I don't even wanna think about doing a skateboard animation from a scratch! That would be unbelievably complicated!

    Got more traditional animation?

  • Sorry mate, i don't really do much animation but I am currently working on a rotoscoped music video for a friend's band and that will be on with all my other videos sometime soon hopefully.

I'm a glutten for punnishment with this rotoscoping lark!

  • I definitly spotted one or more parts out of the rodney mullen video there :D Or not.. hmm.

    Anyway, great work!

  • hahaha yeah i think i pretty rotoscoped most of (if not all) the tricks from the same video. well hey, i did say that i TOOK a skateboarding video in the details, not that i made it first. that would have taken even more time :)

Thanks for the comment though :D

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • some rodney mullen stylins

  • This is really cool what program do you use

  • his tricks look like rodney mullen's

  • if you have photo shop just get a video and put it on it then make another blank video layer and trace over the real video frames on the blank layer then when your done you just delete the real video then your left with what you traced

  • that didnt look like twelve frames per second but it still looked good, how many was it? i wouldnt blame you though i just did a rotoscope in twelve frames per second and man, thats a lot of time.

  • amazing rotoscoping.

  • Haha okay, well ill keep an eye on your profile for that animations then
