  • y'no, the chat box in the bottom left corner of the screen for the first half second (easier to see if it's buffering on an itouch) only happens if the timescale has been decreased. LIES

  • @1337357homevids If I altered the timescale, how often do you think I would have stopped to correct my aim or missed a shot? What you're noticing is the replay function. After the first few, I started using the replay function to tape my runs so I wasn't lagged during it and could just tape the replay.

  • Hell, even look at the best HL2 speed runs--ALL of them are so saturated with glitches it's ridiculous. The only difference is the ones they are using aren't nearly as obvious as getting in and out of the level..

  • If you think speed runs are only done without glitches, you're horribly misinformed. Take a look at the world record for Half Life 1. Notice that a glitch is used from start to finish and is the entire basis of how everything he did was accomplished--Bunny Hopping. Bunny hopping is a glitch and it can be done with a macro. To say that what I'm doing is different than bunny hopping (which I do as well) is just arbitrary bullshit. You can't have it both ways.

  • Why not just start, then warp to the last level using a cheat-code? That's just as illegitimate, but 10x as fast.

  • What is or is not legitimate is gray area. Notice the first two levels I don't leave the map: are those legitimate? If so, why? In 14 I completely -ignore- the level.

What's the point of watching a speed run if you're expecting them to actually complete the level with any semblance of legitimacy? The whole point is to do as little as humanly possible in attempt to make the level as linear as you can.

  • where is the fun in doing speedruns when you are using glitches?

  • Dude, even tho i sub 20[mins] the whole game, you are somehow my idol

  • Will Portal 1 be downloadable content for the PS3?

  • Legitimate is simply not hacking or exploiting the game. Not doing what you did on 14, which was an advanced "ninja". That is a unique way of solving it using what is given to you.

Using that kind of logic is like saying kicking a soccer ball from one goal to the other is like picking it up, running outside the field and then forcing it in through a hole in the back of the goal.

Sneaking in through a hole in a house is not the same as someone letting you in. A bug is not given to you.

  • @WhyWindowsWhy Its the Companion Cube but because its advanced levels its a sphere :P

    The cake is a lie.

  • @impvr1 The developers knew about the bugs and intentionally left them there because only the smart people would use them whilst most other people would be preoccupied trying to do the puzzles

  • @WhyWindowsWhy Advanced chamber 17 gives you a Companion ball to make it harder. :P

  • in my opinion speedrun shouldnt allow using cheats/bugs

  • What is that ball? I am perplexed.
