Peter Russell looks at how he study of consciousness is changing the way science looks at the world. Trailer for the Science and Non-Duality Conference, 2010.
One thing science knows is that our experience is a construct. Sensory information is processed by the brain giving raise to our own experience. This construct appear to have shape color and solidity. What is the world out there actually like?
Physics show that when we look at matter it is mostly empty space. We therefore observe this nothingness and it is our mind that gives it the appearance of solidity. Which is the conclusions reached by mystics trough the ages. Maybe it is not a nonduality of matter but a nonduality of consciousness we should explore.
The new hard question is not how brain gives rise to consciousness but how do our minds take on all the different forms that we experience as reality?
The nondual perspective to this question is that all is one, there is no difference between form and emptiness, mind and matter.
Could this nondual prospective heal the split between science and spirituality?
Non sensical??? We have the reality as a dream.. the quantum is our way to live the reality.. call it dream or reality its the same thing!.

@HealingMudras What a profoundly nonsensical statement.

There is no need to draw any line separating conscious beings from those which are unconscious. Even it matter is mostly empty space the fact that it is not completely empty space is enough to appreciate it as solid. I hope you find some answers. Nevertheless , in my practice and training, consciousness can be manipulated easily with sevo, DES, iso, etc.

Clever video. Just a bit jarring seeing you in full color while the other images were in sepia tone. Was almost wishing you would start out sepia and slowly move into full color.
LIke the TV set background. It reminds me of the old B&W TV I spent my childhood with.

What if everything that we see is not the same thing as we know? What if the colours that we see is not the real colours? What if the colours are just a trick of the brain to organize the things around us?
Too complicated for us. :)
