A clip from the Metamorphosis episode of Prisoners of Gravity with Steve Bissette and Alan Moore talking about Swamp Thing. (Jeeze...they're like Lennon and McCartney...no matter what they do solo, they'll always get asked about the same few years of their lives over and over again. I guess that makes Totleben George Harrison. Is Alcala Ringo, or is Veitch?) Bring back Prisoners of Gravity, Book Television, and I'll subscribe to you. And sorry for the quality.

  • I can't tell if his shirt says "Say Yes To Drugs" or "Say Yo To Drugs" but I like it either way. Thanks for this clip, I'm reading through Moore's run of ST right now and loving it. There's plenty of stories about tragic monsters, it's great to see a "monster" really open up into a new kind of creature as well as remaining sort of human still.

  • It does say "yo".

  • Yes!! If you have more Prisoners of Gravity clips, please post them!

  • Check Prisoners of Gravity on google video...this whole episode and the whole Sandman episode are up.

  • "Hamlet covered in snot"

  • Neil Gaiman once described him as "a hairy Yeti!" I guess that's close.

  • @AbbeyNormal It says "Say Yo! to drugs", that's a picture of Steve Albini on it, i'm quite sure it's merch for Big Black.

  • Interesting video; thank you for posting this.

At the time of this video, Bissette believed that he/they introduced

Swamp Thing being able to re-generate lost limbs.

Hopefully he has actually read Lein, and Wrightson's classic

run by now, and realized that that was not true.

  • another GREAT Alan Moore intrerview......

    (and cool to see Bissette)

  • Don't think so.

  • Is Charles Mason related to Jackie Mason?

  • "Black Jack"

  • He always looked like Charlies Mason to me.

  • In the letter section one of his first issues on Swamp Thing, Mr. Moore described himself (talking in third person) as someone who, when grown old, would resemble Father Christmas's evil twin.

  • What's great about Watchmen is that it shows superheroes in private lives and with self distance. Normally in comics, they're only playing roles. But Watchmen doesn't appear to be a parody or satire of superheroes. It's more sophisticated than that.

  • "You Might Have Turned Into a Shambling Swamp Thing But That Might Not Be To Bad" LOL!!!
