A beautiful ballad from the North London band The Pogues! Shane MacGowan on the ball again. A pure genius of a song, only MacGowan could pen that one together. The song is from the album If I Should Fall From Grace with God in 1988.

@Fioneenacockeen i right there with u mate i aint ever been into poetry but this is pure genius !!i i first saw the pogues in a little irish pub in bristol about 25 yrs ago and they fucking blew me away !! i have seen lots of bands all over the world but that experience will never be bettered !!

One of their best tracks, absolutely beautiful....Shane is up there with Thomas Moore for poetry (and I'm not normally into poetry) ...true talent. Thanks for posting this :)

@mortensnedker Well my friend, if you like The Pogues...have a listen to the late, great Luke Kelly, a former member of Irish band The Dubliners....try a song called Raglan Road....Luke was quite the most wonderful singer i ever heard.
