Take a walk through of one of 5 Cintas locations of its kind across the country - the Cleanroom operation and laundry facility outside of Detroit, MI. Cintas workers here have to wear special suits and the laundry operations are unlike any you've ever seen. The process is so scientific and technical, even the floor material is engineered.

Cintas partners working at the facility are not even allowed to wear makeup. People in cleanrooms are actually the biggest potential contaminants.

A single particle of dust can be disastrous. A cleanroom facility washes clothes but does it in an environment that is lint free, particle free, and free of contamination - not an easy task! Before the garments can be laundered, the water must go through 5, very different, and very scientific filtration and exchange processes.

Partners who handle any cleanroom garments or cleanroom uniforms must be gowned up with a coverall, hood, gown, and special boots. Every garment is boxed and shipped to another location for final sterilization. Everyone in the facility must be well trained and the entire process must be documented. Cintas' 5 cleanrooms supply over 10,000 cleanroom products for its customers, primarily in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries.
