How arrogant can a person really be. Really look at the hate crimes legislation and you'll find that it DOES NOT move to disrupt your personal opinion as a person, institution or religious body. Rather refers to words of harrassment. Without this bill we would see thousands of people killed for their right to freedom and safety. When there is a lack of safety to one group of people, then we have an issue of Hate. That's our government's place to ensure safety of Americans as best they can.

The reason why homosexuals are singled out is that, it is a blatant sin, and it is obvious, the point is that drunks do not a get a licence to be constantly drunk

A hate crime law is by definition a penalty enhancement, meaning *you already have to have a crime to begin with* before beginning to charge it as a hate crime.
So you people that get hysterical over free speech are not calming down and actually reading the text of the pieces of legislation that are being passed or have already been passed.
