Just a quick comparative between SSD booting times. On the left is a 15" MacBook Pro (2.66ghz, 4gb ram) equipped with a 128gb OCZ Vertex SSD. On the right it's a MacBook Air (2.13ghz 2gb ram) using a 128gb Apple SSD. Both are Snow Leopard (10.6.0) 100% mirrored drives.
Even there's a relevant difference between the two machines, notice how superior the OCZ Vertex can get.
