DMP Security System Operation and Keypad Programming

A quick demonstration on programming and operating a DMP security system. This particular panel is a small DMP XR-Super 6, which is a small 6-zone residential panel. The largest DMP panel is an XR-500, which can do commercial fire and burglary and can have several addressable loops. DMP equipment stands in a class all its own when compared to the more common names like Ademco and DSC. All DMP panels can be programmed using a 690 alpha keypad, however, any reputable dealer will have set a lockout code so that only authorized technicians can program the equipment. Programming is a snap, it's menu-based and no programming manuals or confusing hexadecimal or binary conversions are necessary. One cool feature is the backlighting for the keypad keys, they glow green normally, and turn red when the system is in alarm. Enjoy.
